This month's book is The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker
Chava is a Golem from Poland. Ahmad is a Syrian Jinni. Their paths could only cross in New York City at the turn of the 20th century. Despite their opposing natures, the two become friends and allies in a fateful confrontation with a great evil that will threaten their very existence. Wecker weaves strands of Yiddish and Middle Eastern literature, historical fiction and magical fable into this compulsively readable tale.
